Past the Storm

Update: Added a new page: 2007 Photos with photos from January trip.

Right. It was such a massive crack-up. I announced my results on my birthday night and made dad storm the house. He was storming up the stairs and mum got woken up. Mum became pissed at dad for waking her up and dad got told off instead of me HAHAHA.

Anyhow, I was quite anxious for the past few days about university entrance and all but just half an hour ago, I was accepted into the university I wanted to get into. Best in New Zealand! But that’s just the first year. I need to get into second year Law to be totally secure. School starts on 26th February and lol I guess that’s spring break for you northern hemisphere people :D

Happy Birthday To Me

Alright. 12.10am. I’m officially 17. I think I mentioned before that I’ll get my exam results on my birthday. In fact, I got it yesterday. Is it a birthday gift? HELL NO.

Okay so, I got 90% for Business Studies and Economics last year, but this year I only got 61% and 74%. Wanna kill myself.

I was expecting a B for English but I actually managed to get a high A O.o Which was a nice surprise because I’m doing Law in university anyway so English is important. I thought I really screwed up my poetry and short story essays though.

And… As expected for Mathematics, I did well. So meh.

AS Business Studies 61% C
AS Economics 74% B
AS English Literature 90% A
A Level Mathematics with Stats 95% A

That’s past the safety margin of getting into the course I want for Auckland University but I’m not 100% sure. Either way, my parents will slaughter me for the C. It’s almost a D!!!

I have no idea what went wrong though. I mean, different people have different ideas about how they want to manage a business, no? If these Business Studies textbook writers and examiners are really so good then they’d be businessmen instead of writers and markers in the first place. It’s such a subjective paper with no definite answers apart from definitions :’(

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, for turning 17 and my pig “dulu” turning 3, here’s the photo of the birthday stars.

Back from Vacation

I got off the plane about 3 hours ago and OUCH. 7 days make a LOT of difference. That difference is obvious when I check out friends’ rankings on MapleStory. But I’m glad they killed hackers though because my ranking actually increased over 7 days of inactivity XD

It was fun. We were going to Singapore before but the plane tickets were too expensive so we decided to save the money and go on a tour down to South Island (New Zealand). We saw Lord of the Rings scenes everywere and it was simply great. And because we saved lots from not going to Singapore, we were in the best hotels of every city we went to (except one, because the best in that town was *cough* TOO good) and ate all the nice dinners and things. I still remember the best dinner we had. It was a 4-course lobster meal–totally divine. I seriously need to go on a 7-day diet from now on…

This morning we went to a deer farm, where they shot the scene in The Fellowship of the Rings at the beginning where Frodo and them hid beneath big rocks from the Black Riders. Honestly, it was COOL. Deers, llamas, goats, long-haired cows with horns and ponies roamed the place. I saw one chicken as well. You drive on the road and get blocked by a llama in front of you with its ass facing you and another deer right beside your window staring at you with huge eyes. It was great fun; and that was just one morning.

Oh yeah. I watched the TV show–Beauty and the Geeks. The current season has this geeky guy in love with Rubiks cubes so I bought one and I’m stuck because the sequence instruction booklet obviously has errors. I need to figure it out soon or I’ll go mad. I improved a lot on myself though and can easily get about 80% of it done but I need the remaining 20%.

I’ll look forward to the next coming family vacation :)
